Bethany Van Gorder, BVM&S
Chief of Staff
Dr. Bethany Van Gorder grew up in and currently resides on Mount Desert Island. She received an undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Maine and was a veterinary assistant at Acadia Vet from 2012-2015. Dr. Van Gorder earned her DVM at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.
Her interests include small animal medicine, emergency and critical care, and canine athletes as she worked with sled dogs growing up. She has a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever named Riley (pictured here), which travelled to Scotland with her and has been her constant companion. In her free time, she enjoys hiking in Acadia with Riley, riding horses, spending time with family, or relaxing at home. She is happy to be back on MDI providing care for the pets of our community!
